## One line

Zest Protocol is a Bitcoin DeFi protocol that lets users use their BTC as collateral on other chains without moving or wrapping it.

## What we do

Zest Protocol allows users to lock BTC in self-custodial Taproot vaults on Bitcoin Layer 1, then use the value of that collateral on another chain, for example to borrow stablecoins. The BTC is never bridged or wrapped, and recovery is programmatic even if the destination chain fails. Zest Protocol also operates a DeFi suite on the Stacks Layer 2, which includes a lending market, swap, and yield vaults, with a reported peak TVL of $100M and current TVL of $90,495,834.
